Functional Tester

About the Job

We are currently seeking an experienced Functional Tester for our client in the Antwerp region.

Responsibilities:

• Developing, maintaining, and executing test scenarios.
• Providing guidance on test strategy, testing techniques, and test environments.
• Contributing to test plans, specifying which parts of the system require testing, and determining the appropriate test techniques and specifications.
• Specializing in a particular context, whether it’s UI testing, API testing, DWH testing, mobile testing, etc.
• Collaborating as an agile tester within an agile development team.
• Ensuring that the software developed by the team functions seamlessly with all interfaces.
• Serving as a test coach within the agile team, offering advice on how other team members (developers, analysts, etc.) can perform and enhance their testing practices.
• Reporting on software quality to various stakeholders, including developers, analysts, team leaders, and the test manager.

Your Qualifications:

• Strong analytical skills, enabling quick comprehension of analyses and functional inquiries.
• Prior experience in software testing, including the creation, maintenance, and execution of test scenarios.
• Profound knowledge of structured testing and exploratory testing.
• Solid grasp of test methodologies and techniques.
• Competency in SQL.
• Familiarity with Scrum and the ability to independently handle test assignments within defined sprints and established standards and service levels.
• Innovative thinking and a keen eye for detail with a focus on quality.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Self-sufficiency, resilience under pressure, and a positive demeanor.
• Capability to extract lessons learned and establish best practices for enhancing the current testing methodology and approach.
• Ethical handling of sensitive (personal) data.

Location

Focus Area: Antwerp, Leuven & Brussels

Languages and Mobility

• Residency in Belgium with eligibility to work in the EU, preferably in the Antwerp, Leuven & Brussels.
• Proficiency in either French or Dutch, as well as English for effective communication.
